The kinesthetic learning style I relate to greatly. I want to jump right in. Tutorial? I don't need no stinkin' tutorial. I'm just going to try on my own first and then reluctantly go to the tutorial, but I'll skip through it for tidbits. I think I would say that I am Kinesthetic/Visual instead of vice versa. I agree that the percentage of auditory is low for me, and my students. I can tune out even things that I am interested in.
One of the great discoveries of this program is the fierce importance of reflection. Here is a silly quiz at the back of a book. But, then I write about it, reflect on what it tells about me personally and then it has become something more than a silly quiz. Whether it captured me correctly or not is beside the point. Really thinking about the styles of learning reiterates for me why teaching is such a challenging profession. These learning styles are why math class is so varied throughout the week. Game day, foldable activities, small group instruction, whole class instruction, white board math, math apps. I need all this just to, hopefully, hit on everyone's learning style.
